' Hans system : " Head And Neck Support ".....

The system was invented and developed in the early 80s by Robbert Hubbard (Dr.) professor of biomechanical engineering in the United States, together with the his brother, the driver Jim Downing, after the death of a friend cervical fracture common during a test session.

Like all great inventions, the Hans system is remarkably simple:a carbon structure, two belts and two fasteners. The Hans system is surely the greatest innovation in safety, then the full face helmet and fireproof fact. The patent system Hans Hubbard /DOWNING INC is in terms of use, framed by the FIA 8858-2002 standard and already required in many sports competitions around the world.

In addition to Hubbard / Downing Inc.. Two more firms licensed to manufacture the systems, "Stand 21 Racewear" and "Schroth Safety Products "

Turn out to be in  practical  terms,  these two  firms that  provide all  distributors in the market such as "Omp" (Stand 21) and the "Sparco" (Schroth).

To reduce by 80% the risk of fracture of the cervical vertebrae and muscle rupture in the area of the neck / back (when the pilot is subjected to a sudden deceleration), which results in the leading cause of death in sport  car.

In the frontal impact test 56km / h, caused a tension in the neck 5100N (which starts with HANS system 860N) and the displacement of the head is 40cm to about 26cm (approximate average values).
